Prior2Lever
A unique and ground-breaking collaboration between London College of Fashion, Exchange and footwear company Prior 2 Lever brought together the worlds of engineering, medicine, and fashion to produce the first bespoke football boot Assassin.
As the very first of boot of its kind, Designer and LCF Research Fellow Philip Delamore has been integral in the successful development of this innovative project, working with the start-up company to investigate finishing strategies. London College of Fashion, through Exchange, additionally supported Prior 2 Lever with a high profile launch of Assassin to the sports, medical, lifestyle and fashion industries in April 2006.
In the long term, London College of Fashion will continue working with Prior 2 Lever through Exchange to streamline the production process and centre it within the UK drawing on the technical and creative expertise of the partner institutions. This will be overseen specifically by Philip Delamore who will also be involved in processes of personalisation by working directly with the wearer to develop the aesthetics of the boot. There will also be potential to further the research and knowledge gained and applying it to other fashion and lifestyle products.
